9/29.- Flanders: Ghent, the Graslei

This is where the Ghent harbor was situated in the Middle Ages. The houses, which date from the 12th to the 17th century, are those of various merchants' corporationsa and customs' officers. The thing to eat in Ghent is Waterzooi, that is, fish or chicken boiled in cream and vegetables.
