21/37.- Litang Horse Festival, surrounding mountains

In the picture you can see the mountains that surround the fields where the festival takes place.

Seeing these high mountains surrounding me, sometimes I had the impression of being in a valley at sea level. But Litang is at an altitude of 4,100 meters! The mountain in the picture must be more than 5,000 meters.

In the towns leading to Litang you can buy altitude pills. There are natural and artificial ones. It is recommended that you take the pills before getting to Litang.
