Chicago, Museum of Science & Industry
The Oriental Institute Museum is certainly not the only museum in Hyde Park. Indeed, far more
popular and famous is the huge Museum of Science & Industry, located on the lakefront in one of
the only structures surviving from the 1893 World Columbian Exhibition. Whereas the Oriental
Institute Museum is a rather dry, "old style" museum with lots of artifacts and text, the Museum
of Science & Industry is full of interactive, kid-friendly exhibits. The museum is huge, and you
can easily spend a half-day, or even a full-day here, particularly if you see a film in the Omnimax
theater.
