Welcome to Chicago, America's third largest city and one of its best tourist destinations!

Colloquially known as "the Windy City," the "City of Big Shoulders," or America's "Second City," Chicago was founded in 1833 and is now home to almost three million people. The larger Chicago Metropolitan Area, sometimes known as "Chicagoland," has a population of 9.5 million.

Chicago can be reached by road or rail, but if you are coming from either of the U.S. coasts or overseas, air is probably the best option. Chicago is served by two major airports, Midway (domestic flights) and O'Hare (international and domestic).

As you can see from the photo, Chicago's skyline is quite impressive. Indeed, the city is famous for its architecture.
