25.- Everglades, The
flat bottom
It's easy to see
the shape of the airboat in this photo. Long metal ridges
give strength to the aluminum shell. The seats are
simple: wood boards are screwed into the frame of the
boat and the corners of the back of the bench are rounded
to avoid hurting your leg when you step in. Yes, I'm
sitting in the driver's seat. I work as a car mechanic in
Geneva, so this is an interesting moment ; to be sitting
in front of a car engine! The large yellow wire cage
behind me protects the blades of the fan from hitting
things (and people). It's a very loud motor and I put
soft plugs in my ears to protect them from the loud
noise.
