Sanliurfa is considered the forth religious city after Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem for here is where Prophet Abraham (Ibrahim) the common ancestor of the three monotheistic religions was born and lived. According to the legend, Prophet Abraham (Ibrahim) was born in Urfa and he was thrown into fire because of his fight with the idols worshipped by Nemrut and his society. But God turned the fire into water and the burning coals into fish and today, the visitor to the town can visit the mosque complex surrounding Abraham's Cave shown here and The Pool of Sacred Fish around it.
