Blanes is also known for its Fireworks Festival. It takes place during the third week of July. Firework companies from all over the world take part in this contest. Each night a company shows the audience its most imaginative fireworks.
Thousands of tourists come each night to the shows. More than 100,000 people attend the shows during Friday's and Saturday's nights. You do have to come some time in advance if you want to sit on the beach.
