Since the early 1960's foreign, and local, tourists flood the beaches of Blanes every summer. The mixture of languages is overwhelming: English, German, Dutch, and, lately, also Russian, Czech and other East European languages. Local languages, Catalan and Spanish, are more common on the main beach. Foreigners tend to go to the S'Abanell Beach.
During the peak season it is not easy to find an empty spot to lie the towel.
