Blanes used to be a fishing village. Although not many locals work in the fishing industry anymore, the town does have a busy harbor. Most of the harbor's boats are for recreational purposes, but the ones you see in the picture are the "professional" ones. They leave the harbor every day at dusk, and come back the following day, usually in the afternoon.
