This lively square not too far from the Museumplein and the Vondelpark is popular for its nightlife, bars and cafés. Street performers are often found here.
The Stadsschouwburg (municipal theatre) is located on the square and offers a very rich Dutch and international performing arts program. English-language comedy group Boom Chicago and concert venues Paradiso and Melkweg are also nearby.
The Leidsestraat is a busy shopping street and if you go all the way up, you will arrive to the Koningsplein, near the Singel and behind Dam Square.
