If you are a wine aficionado, you will love the wines from the region of Geneva. The history of the local vineyards begins in Roman times. Nowadays more than 1,500 hectares (=3,700 acres) of land are dedicated to growing many varieties of grapes for the production of wine.
Chasselas and red Gamay are the region's specialties, but many other grape varieties are grown here. If you have some free time, take one of the vineyard tours. You will enjoy it.
