Now that we have visited Geneva's "Rive Gauche" and "Rive Droite", it may be the time to take one of the boat tours along Lake Geneva. To get to the docks from the "Place des Nations" area, you have to take one of the buses or trams to the center, pass by the train station and get off once you get to the River Rhone. You will see several tourist ferry -companies by the Mont-Blanc Bridge. Prices vary, but are affordable.
From April through October, small ferries cross the lake on two routes, both covered by normal city tickets: M1 runs between the Pâquis jetty (Quai du Mont-Blanc) and Place du Molard (Rues-Basses); M2 between Pâquis and Eaux-Vives.
If you get seasick, or do not like boats, you can walk along the promenades by the lake. One of the sights that I enjoy the most is the view of the city of Geneva from the lake. I liked taking one of the buses along Avenue Gustave Ador ("Rive Gauche")and walking back to the center. For an even better experience, go half an hour before dusk. Sunsets are great!!
