What has made this Church famous is the presence of some of the city artists’ graves. Among others you can find the graves of: Michelangelo (1570), Leonardo Bruni (1444), Carlo Marsuppini (1453). Macchiavelli and Galileo.
Inside this church there is the 'Cappella Pazzi' of Brunelleschi. A first Renaisance work. You will also find the Museum 'Dell’Opera della Santa Croce' here. Unfortunately some of its works were destroyed in the 1966 flood. Its most important pieces are: "The Crucifixion" and Donatello’s "San Luis de Toulouse".
