Ceske Budejovice’s historic center is small enough to be visited on foot. A complete visit to the town’s more interesting buildings shouldn’t last more than a few hours. If you go to the Town’s tourist info center (by the Town Hall, in Otakar II Square) they will be pleased to give you maps and barouches.
