7/43.- Braga, "Igreja da Misericórdia"

Menu

After the Roman Empire’s destruction the city was invaded by the Suevi, who stayed here for 175 years. It then passed into the hands of the Goths, who ruled the city for three hundred years. In 715 A.C. Braga was taken by the Moors, who stayed here for only 25 years. The Catholic King of Oviedo conquered the City, but in 985 the Caliph of Cordova reconquered Braga.

We are now in front of the "Igreja da Misericórdia", a fine example of the Renaissence movement, built in the 16th century.
