6/43.- Braga, "Santa Barbara"
Gardens
This is a great Italian Renaissance garden. Behind the Garden
you can see the medieval walls of the Archbishops Palace.
The origins of Braga are not known. Its almost sure that
the city was founded by the Gadhelic Celts (known also as Bracari,
it seems that the name of Braga comes from that term). In 250 BC the
Romans invaded the city and stayed here for several centuries, they
named the city Bracara Augusta (after Emperor Augustus). During the
Roman Empire Braga was the Capital of the Galicia Region.
