8/43.- Braga, The Cathedral

The king of Leon reconquered the city from the Moors. When Dona Teresa married Dom Henrique, Earl of Burgundy, his father (Don IV of Leon) gave her Braga as dowry.

We are now in front of the Cathedral (Sé). This Cathedral was built by Dom Henrique and his wife (Dona Teresa) in the place were the Arabs, four centuries before, destroyed the original church of Santa Maria.

Inside this Latin cross form Catheral you can visit the "Sacred Art Museum", with a collection of precious works of art from the 16th to the 18th century.
