35/50.-Hanoi, Bay Mau Lake

Bay Mau is another of the lakes that deserves a visit. The lake is well kept, but some of the bars in the area could be cleaner.

The history of Hanoi dates back more than 2200 years, when Han Chinese set up a military garrison here. Chinese controlled almost all modern Vietnam, but rebellions were constant. In 938 the independence of Vietnam was declared. After decades of anarchy and chaos, in 980, Vietnam became a semi-independent state of China.
