36/50.- Hanoi, Bach Dang

Vietnamese resisted the Chinese invasions for more than 400 years, but in 1407 they captured Hanoi again. In a major victory in 1426 national hero Le Loi's liberated the country. He became the founder of the Le Dynasty, ascending the throne as Le Thai To. This dinasty ruled Vietnam from 1428 to 1788. The second longest dynasty is the 1802-1945 Nguyen Dynasty.
