1.- Samarkand, Assalom Aleikum!

I am glad to introduce you Samarkand. Samarkand is one of the world's oldest cities, located in the very center of Uzbekistan in the valley of the Zeravshan River. It has seen periods of power and decline throughout its more than 2500-years history. The favorable geographic location of Samarkand made it indissoluble part of the ancient Great Silk Road.

Thousands of caravans with silk passed Samarkand on their way to the countries of Europe. Ancient manuscripts refer to Samarkand as the center of science and culture. The monuments of mediaeval architecture arouse admiration by the perfection of forms, harmony of colors, daring engineering design.

We have a saying "Its better to see one time than to hear seven times" so let us continue.
