16/50.- Kyoto, Myohoin Temple

The Myohoin Temple is a monzeki temple of the Tendai sect founded in the 12th century. The head priest of the monzeki temples used to be a member of the Imperial family till the fall of the Shogunate, at the end of the 19th century.

The halls where the priest lived are worth visiting.
