Xian, Wolong Temple
From the City walls, you have a nice view of
the Crouching Tiger Temple. This temple sits in the South part
of the city center. Next to this Temple is a great Museum, the
Xian Stele Forest Museum.
The name of the Stele Forest comes
from
the
fact that the steles are so numerous that they resemble a forest.
In the museum you can visit six large exhibition halls, with
manuscripts, tombstones and documents; and a stele pavilion.
The original Stele Forest was built during the Song Dynasty
(1087) to preserve the Kaichengshijing Stele from the Tang Dynasty.
