11/26.- Suzhou, Master of Nets Garden: Bird Mosaic

Next let's visit what is perhaps Suzhou's most famous garden, the Master of Nets Garden, supposedly named for a retired official who wanted to become an accomplished fisherman.

The garden, dating to 1140, was substantially remodeled in 1770. As we see here, the artistry of these gardens is not confined to the trees, ponds, and flowers but might also be found right under your feet!
