Shangri-La has become a metaphor for those idealistic people seeking perfect love, happiness, or a Utopian ideal.

Many compare Shangri-La with the Garden of Eden, a paradisiacal place on earth where people can live an ever-lasting happy life.

Today Shangri-La in Yunnan province may not be the paradise that we all dream of, but the Tibetan plateau in the area of Shangri-La is one of the most beautiful regions in China. On the following pages I will introduce you to some of the most beautiful sights in this region.
