12/35.- Shangri-La, old town

After the visit to the Ganden Sumtseling Monastery, I will show you some pictures of Shangri-La old town.

Shangri-La is divided into two areas, the new town and the old town.

The new town is yet another dull and uninteresting Chinese city, with plenty of new buildings. It is in the new city that most accommodation is. Apart from hotels, there is nothing for tourists there.

The old town is where the old wooden houses sit. Many of them are new houses reconstructed in accordance with the local architectural style.
