5/35.- Shangri-La, Ganden Sumtseling Monastery

This is the gate that gives access to one of the halls in the Monastery.

The Ganden Sumtseling Monastery is the largest Buddhist monastery in Yunnan province. The monastery is also known by two other names, Songzanlin and the little Potala Palace.

The Monastery was originally built in the 17th century after a revelation by the 5th Dalai Lama. The Monastery was built in accordance with Tibetan traditional style lines.
