Shanghai, Yuyuan Garden, statue
The origins of the Yuyuan Garden and Bazaar
date back to the 16th century. During the latter years of the
Qing
Dynasty a marketplace known as the Chenghuang Miao used
to be here. Nowadays the Yuyuan Bazaar is the place to shop
for traditional Chinese craftsmanship.
There is a big mall, called the Hua Bao Building,
which is the place to go for precious articles. In the shops
in this building you will find traditional costumes, calligraphy
paintings, pottery, ceramics, ivory and wood wares, among many
other souvenirs.
