9/43.- Shanghai, Yuyuan Garden & Bazaar
In Downtown Shanghai, not far from the Bund,
is another of
the sights
a tourist should not miss, the Yuyuan
Garden & Bazaar.
The Yuyuan Garden is the place to buy all
kinds
of traditional, and not so traditional, Chinese souvenirs: silk
dresses and handkerchiefs, Chinese figurines, traditional toys,
T-shirts, local food, and so on.
In the complex of Yu Yuan garden, you will
also find shops, bars, restaurants, tea and coffee shops. There
is also an interesting temple and a 400-year old garden. A complete
visit to the area will take you almost half a day. Although
the buildings may look pretty ancient, almost all of them were
finished at the beginning of the 1990's.
