7/10.-Chengdu, Zhaojue Temple

Another of the temples to visit is the Zhaojue Temple, which is the largest Buddhist temple in Chengdu. It is located northeast of the city center, close to the city zoo.

This temple was originally built during the 7th century (Tang Dynasty), but most of the buildings are from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). The buildings have recently been restored, and now house more than 200 Buddhist monks.
