East of the American History Museum is the Natural History Museum. This museum is also part of the Smithsonian Institution. The Natural History Museum displays gems, minerals, meteorites, fossils, plants, animals and human artifacts. The star of the museum is the Hope Diamond, a 45 carats blue diamond.
