University of Chicago, Campus Building
Part of the main quad is also laid out as a botanical garden. It's quite a pleasant place on a nice
late spring day (assuming it isn't overrun with students!) One of the University's principal
claims to fame is nuclear energy: the world's first self-sustaining nuclear reaction took place at
the University in late 1942 (and there's a plaque and modernist sculpture to mark the spot).
