12/18.- Big Sur, Pacific Coast Highway

Big Sur has been kept unspoiled thanks to its inaccessibility. The Pacific Coast Highway is the only way of reaching Big Sur. The road is located between the Santa Lucia Mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

Most visitors to Big Sur do not leave the road, but if you are into hiking or mountain climbing, you can stop in one of the state parks along the road.
