6/49.- Pittsburgh, Carnegie-Mellon
University
Resembling something that the Catalan architect, Gaudi would have
designed, St. Paul's Cathedral, located across the road, is reflected
in Carnegie Mellon's Department of Software Engineering. St. Paul's
design is actually a mixture of English and German Gothic and was
built in 1906. A surprising fact about Carnegie- Mellon University
is that apart from its degree programmes in computer science etc.
it also offers a degree in bagpipe music. Oakland is a terrific place
to wander around. In addition to the theater productions at the University
of Pittsburgh and CMU, the Playhouse offers productions sponsored
by Point Park College. There is also the Pittsburgh Council for International
Visitors organization. Check them out for information on tours, English
classes, home visits and general information about Pittsburgh.
