5/22.- Panama City, Plaza Bolivar

The main square in Panama's Old District is Plaza Bolivar. In the center of this square sits a statue of Simon Bolivar.

Bolivar is known as "El Libertador", or the Liberator. He was the leader of the independence movement in the 19th century that led to the liberation of several Central and South American countries.
