4/22.- Panama City, Palacio Presidencial

In the picture you can see one of the most beautiful buildings in the Old District, the Presidential Palace. The building has always been the residence of local authorities. Since Panama gained its independence from Colombia, at the beginning of the 20th century, the president of the nation lives here.

The Presidential Palace is also known as the "Palacio de las Garzas", or Heron's Palace, because of the herons in its compound
