Frank Lloyd Wright's Guggenheim Museum has been a New York landmark since it opened its doors in 1957. Solomon R. Guggenheim sponsored the museum which contains a rich collection of modern art. Paintings by Braque, Calder, Giacometti, Kandinsky, Klee, Miro, Mondrian and Picasso, among many others, are on display inside the rounded walls of this unique building.
There used to be a second Guggenheim in New York -- the Guggenheim SoHo, but it closed its doors some years ago; it's now the Prada store.
