25/50.- Roaring River, stream

This is one of the streams in the mountains where you can go for a swim. Do not worry, no crocodriles here. If you like hiking, Ocho Rios surroundings are the place for you. There are plenty of excursions you can do. You should always go with a guide, though. It is not recommended to go by your own. It can be dangerous.

Hiking in the countryside is one of the best ways to meet real Jamaicans, the ones who do not have much contact with tourists. The Jamaicans you will find in the tourist resorts will only want to be with you for one reason: your money. But Jamaicans you meet here, will want to get to know you better. It is a good opportunity to learn why some of them are so upset with the current situation. Foreigners can come to Jamaica, but Jamaicans are not accepted in the countries where tourists come from.
