3/32.- Sete Cidades, Second City, Arco do Triunfo

The geological formations in the park have their origins more than 200 million years ago, when Africa and South America were one continent. When the two lands separated, the sediments at the bottom of the sea surfaced. The difference in pressure and temperature, created these unique formations.

Although some of the rocks appear to be man made, all have a natural origin. Some “crazy” Scientists wanted to see an extraterrestrial origin in some of the rocks and paintings in the area, but these theories have no foundation. Nevertheless, many UFO enthusiasts visit the area in search of evidence.

In the picture you can see one of the landmarks of the park of the Seven Cities, the Triumphal Arch. That locals say it resembles the one in Paris, France.
