West of the city we find the Corcobado mountain, the Maracana Stadium and the Botanical Garden.

At the top of the Corcobado mountain is the world famous statue of Jesus (the Corcobado, or Hunchback). To get to the Monumento do Cristo Redentor you can take a tramway at Cosme Velho Station. During the trip you will see nice views of the Tijuca Forest. It is also possible to get there by bus and or taxi.
