3/28.- Olinda, Mosteiro do São Bento, interior

Like most of the churches in town, Mosteiro São Bento is open to the public. You do not have to pay any entrance fee. Inside the Monastery you can admire its nice ornate altar.

The best way to visit Olinda is on foot. In the streets of Olinda you will meet local guides who will offer you their services. Before hiring a guide, though, make sure he speaks good English. If you do not want a guide, ask for one of the free maps in your hotel.

Walking uphill from here, we will get to the Prefeitura (or Town Hall).
