2/28.- Olinda, Mosteiro do São Bento

We will start our virtual visit with one of the nicest churches in town, the Mosteiro do São Bento.

São Bento is a Benedict Monastery originally built at the end of the 16th century, burnt down by the Dutch, and rebuilt in the 17th century. Its current structure dates back to the 18th century, and like most of the churches in Olinda belongs to the Baroque Style.
