5/26.- Pyramids tour, Gizah, the Kefren pyramid

This one is the Kefren pyramid. It is somewhat smaller than the Kheops one, because Kefren was Kheops' son, and he didn't want to undervalue his father. But he was intelligent enough to build it on a platform some meters above the soil, so its tip was some meters above the one of his father's.

As you can see part of the surface that covered the pyramid still remains. All three pyramids were covered with limestone, which shone with the sun. Unfortunately this limestone was more appreciated than the pyramids themselves for centuries, and this material was removed from the pyramids to be used in local works.
