16/25.- Fez, Medina, carpets for sale

One of the most typical souvenirs from Morocco, and Fez in particular, are carpets. The problem with carpets is that you have to be a real expert. The quality of the threads and the number of knots mark the price. If you do not know carpets well, you may be ripped off.

Fez, as anywhere else in Morocco, is a safe city. Of course you have to take the usual precautions and be always alert, because there are pickpockets. Violence is extremely rare.

Women travelers should try to cover as much skin as they can, but apart from that, they should not have any problems. Even women who travel alone will be safe.
