15/25.- Fez, Koran writings

In the picture you can see a wall of one of the palaces in the medina of Fez with Koran inscriptions. As you may well know, Islam does not allow the representation of human bodies. For this reason you only see geometric decorations, plants and flower representations, and Koran inscriptions used as decorations in the Islamic countries.

Although Morocco's economic situation is improving quickly, the standard of life in this country is still low. Prices are a bargain for foreign tourists. Accommodation is somewhat cheaper than in other countries, but the cost of transport and of restaurants is well bellow Europe or America. Expect to spend less than you think on a visit to this unique country. Another good reason for coming here.
