Fez, Medina, mosque door
In the picture you can see a rich decorated door. It gives
access to a mosque. As anywhere else in Morocco mosques can
only be visited by Muslims. Non Muslims can not go any further
than this. It is also advisable not to take pictures of the
interior.
If you are staying in the Ville Nouvelle, you will have to
take a taxi or a bus to get to the Medina, where all the tourist
attractions are. There are two kinds of taxis, the "Petit
taxi ", for up to three passengers; and the "Grand
Taxi ", or collective taxi, for up to six passengers. The
taxi driver may welcome more clients if he has still free seats. I recommend asking your hotel for the price of the ride, because
some drivers do not want to turn on the meter.
If you are staying in a hotel in the medina you won't need
to take any public transport in order to visit Fez. The Medina
is a car free zone. [next »]
