12/50.- Luxor, fruit shop

Here you can see a fruit stand in a street market. The city of Luxor is small enough to be visited on foot. The three main streets are: Sharia al-Mahatta, Sharia al-Karnak and the Corniched, next to the Nile.

Sharia al-Mahatta is the street that goes from the train station to the Luxor temple. Sharia al-Karnak goes from the Luxor temple to (yes, you've guessed it) Karnak, parallel to the Nile. And Corniche street goes by the Nile.

Close to the temple of Luxor, following sharia al-mahatta street, you will find many souvenir shops. If you keep walking you will leave the more tourist areas behind and find the local market. If you come to Luxor I recommend a stroll in this market. Luxor is a very safe city, so don't be afraid to inspect the hidden streets.
