20/36.- Abu Simbel, Hathor Temple, gate

Although queen Nefertari died early in the reign of Ramses II, the fact that the king dedicated this temple to her and to the goddess of love points the real affection between them.

This temple was also carved out of a sandstone cliff on the West bank of the Nile and, as its big brother, was moved in the 1960's.
