19/36.- Abu Simbel, Hathor Temple, Ramses statue
Here we have our hero again: Ramses II with
the double crown of Higher and Lower Egypt. But remember that the
temple was dedicated to Hathor.
Hathor was the goddess of love, of
women and of fertility. She was strongly associated with motherhood,
and her principal animal form was that of a cow. She was a goddes
similar to the Greeks' Aphrodite.
