8.- Tossa de Mar, sangria


He, he, he ... do you know sangria? No? You have never been to Spain, or you are not a typical tourist then! It seems tourists keep enjoying this mix of wine, lemonade, sugar and Mediterranean fruits.

The jar in the picture is called 'porro'. You are supposed to drink the sangria from its long spout!

Usually sangria is dark colored, with red wine. The one on the right is a special sangria made with local Champaign. I do not know if you knew it, but South of Barcelona is a wine producing region where some of the best Champaigns in the world are bottled. Actually we should call them 'cava', because French producers do not want any Champaign not produced in the Champagne region to be called Champaign.
