'Place Martroi' is one of the main squares in Orleans. Three big avenues converge in this square: 'rue Bannier', 'rue de la Republique' and 'rue Royale'. In the middle of the square sits a statue of the local heroine, Joan of Arc.
In December, from 7 till 24, a Christmas market takes up this central square. In this market visitors will find the typical French specialties eaten during the Christmas celebrations, and the typical Christmas presents and decorations.
